It seems that Steam Deck’s development is almost complete as Valve is now sending out dev-kits to its partners to test their games on the Steam Deck.
“Since we are still in the final stages of development, the dev-kit program gives us the chance to guide game developers through the process of getting their games on Steam Deck while also continuing to gather their feedback as we prepare for the official launch at the end of the year.“, said the post.
The dev-kit program will help developers to get their games on Steam Deck while Valve gathers feedback about games running on the Steam Deck.
Some behind-the-scenes shots were also shared in the post which showed the Steam Decks packaged and ready to be shipped.
Steam Deck is a strong device that is capable to run your Steam games and even third-party games for that matter. It will come with SteamOs installed, which is Steam’s own operating system. You can still install Windows on it if you want. The best part of Steam Deck is that there’s no exclusivity, you can play any game on this device that you would otherwise be able to play on your PC.
Steam Deck will launch at the end of this year and shipping will begin by December 2021. Currently, it is only available in select regions. Hopefully after the launch the device will become available in other regions. You can know more about the Steam Deck here.
