SteamDB accidently accused of pirating Yakuza: Like a Dragon by SEGA

Pavel ‘xPaw‘ Djundik yesterday tweeted out saying that SEGA’s lawyers are trying to take down SteamDB page for the Yakuza: Like a Dragon. They claim that SteamDB is distributing the game. (Thanks: IGN India)

Anyone who knows about SteamDB or has visited SteamDB knows that the claim made by the lawyers of SEGA is false.

SteamDB is a tool for insights related to the platform Steam. It’s basically where you go to if you want any statistical information about any game title or software on Steam.

For now the SteamDB page for Yakuza: Like a Dragon has been taken down by SteamDB itself as SESGA isn’t responding to the abuse report and has sent a new one to the hoster for SteamDB.

Actually, the sole purpose of SteamDB’s existence is providing data about Steam products. It does not provide download links to Steam games or pirate or sell keys.

xPaw also mentioned that SteamDB gets at least one DMCA every year but those are resolved fairly quickly. But SEGA has ignored any replies, he said.

He also stated that they have got in touch with SEGA of America and they are trying to resolve the matter.
