2K Games will announce a new game franchise later this month, could be a Marvel game
During a financial earnings call, Take Two Interactive’s president, Karl Slatoff revealed that 2K has a new franchise planned for launch during this fiscal year. “Later this month, 2K will unveil details of another exciting new franchise planned for launch during this fiscal year,” he said during the earnings call.
A leak posted on the r/GamingLeaksAndRumours subbreddit 2 months ago that discussed upcoming games, mentioned a turn-based Marvel game developed by Firaxis Games(a game developer under Take-Two Interactive).
The user that posted the leak had also mentioned that the leak came through his source and “more or less directly from 2K”.
Jason Schreier had also confirmed the leak via Twitter while replying to a tweet regarding the same.
And now after Karl Slatoff’s statement it seems like that leak is true and it could very well be the “exciting new franchise” to be announced later this month.
The leaker’s source described the game as “XCOM with Marvel heroes“. Meaning the game will play out similar to XCOM.
The standalone for GTA Online will probably also come out sometime next year before Take-Two Interactive’s current fiscal year ends on March 31, 2022.
