You will be able to pet and recruit dogs in Ghost of Tsushima

Sucker Punch the developers of Ghost of Tsushima recently posted a clip on Twitter which will delight the gamers as well as pet lovers, especially the dog lovers.

In the version 1.1, you will be able to pet dogs and even turn them into your allies.

Ghost of Tsushima is an action-adventure open world game developed by Sucker Punch Productions and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment for PlayStation 4. The game follows Jin Sakai, a samurai who trying to protect the island of Tsushima during an invasion.

You can equip the ‘Charm of Canine Recruitment‘ in the New Game+ mode to pet and recruit the dogs. You probably are wondering what ”New Game+” is. It is an unlockable mode that has certain features or props that aren’t available the first time you complete the game, but you can use them the second time you start playing the game. Basically, a replay mode with additional features. You will see such mode in RPGs more than in any other genre.

When you are replaying the game, you might find the charm of canine recruitment that can be equipped and allows you to interact and recruit dogs, thus the name canine recruitment.

But, you can’t interact with those cute doggos the first time you play the game.

You can also pet the spirit dogs in ‘Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’, the multiplayer co-op mode for the game. This co-op mode was first announced in August and will be releasing on October 16.

But why only for NG+ mode? Why not let players interact with and recruit dogs in the first playthrough? We don’t know. All we can do is hope they will add the feature to at least pet the dog in future updates.

That’s not all, there’s still a lot more coming to Ghost of Tsushima. Patch 1.1 will add a horse, new charms and a Ghost Flower merchant that sells dyes, vanity items and will trade charms for ghost flowers. All these additions will be to New Game+.

This new patch will be rolled out alongside Ghost of Tsushima: Legends on October 16 2020.
