As announced by Xbox a few days back, the ‘Xbox FanFest’ will be returning this year, but in a digital form.
What is Xbox?
Xbox FanFest is an event where gamers can enjoy the latest Xbox games and try the latest Xbox features in-person with other fellow gamers.
Microsoft won’t be able to hold the Xbox FanFest as a physical event this year due to the ongoing pandemic. In the past, Xbox FanFest has happened in physical locations with a limited number of attendants. Being held online allows Xbox gamers worldwide to be part of this event.
“The fans have asked for it and we’re delivering. Xbox FanFest is now a combination of exclusive physical and digital events, content, sweepstakes, merch, and more! We are excited to allow more fans the ability to participate with the Xbox community. By registering for Xbox FanFest, you unlock exclusives across Xbox hosted events, promotions, and curated online experiences hosted just for you.” – Microsoft
How to register?
Note: You must have an Xbox profile and be atleast 18 years or older in order to register.
Registering for the FanFest is very easy, firstly, you will have to visit the Xbox FanFest page. There you can register by logging into your existing Xbox profile.
Registrations will begin from Monday, October 12, 2020, 6PM PT and 9PM ET. Due to the time zone difference, for India and surrounding countries registrations will begin on October 13th, approximately 6:30AM IST.
Once you register, you will be able to see new activities and offers as they appear.
You will receive an immediate confirmation after you sign up for a specific activity. From there, you can expect an email that provides details with your access to the activity 72 hours in advance of the activity date.
After successful registration you will receive 100 Microsoft Rewards points. You can claim those points by clicking on the link provided. Participating in FanFest activities might grant you additional points and rewards.
The Xbox site says you can win exclusive Xbox Official gear. There are events like Meet & Greet, FanFest Trivia, etc. Also, there are exclusive sweepstakes, for a chance to win more. The FanFest Trivia is likely to happen on October 23.
Registering for Xbox FanFest is free and a certain amount of activities are free to take part in as well, but there might be some activities at times, that might require a paid ticket.
Xbox has stated in the FAQs section that participation in these activities is open to all regions. The registration, activities and communication mails will still be in English as of now.
