Big changes to Tachanka in Rainbow Six Siege Update 3.1
A new Rainbow Six Siege Update has introduced more changes to Tachanka, the least used yet most popular operator in Rainbow Six Siege. Tachanka is an operator that has existed in the game for years now, but players don’t usually pick him as he lacks mobility and isn’t the most effective. But with these new changes, Tachanka has become way more mobile and effective.
Now Tachanka’s RP-46 Degtyaryov turret has been replaced with a Shumikha launcher.
Shumikha Launcher:
It is a grenade launcher with a fixed magazine of 5 grenades. These grenades have a fixed area of fire which starts after 1 second of the first bounce. These grenades are inserted one by one. Tachanka will carry a max of 10 grenades only.
Primary Weapon:
The DP27 LMG is now available for Tachanka as a primary weapon. DP27 LMG has replaced the SASG-12. The DP27 LMG allows players to destroy hatches and open rotations on soft walls while playing as Tachanka.
Withstand Ability:
Tachanka’s “Withstand” ability also has been removed . Tachanka no longer be able to pick himself up while in the DBNO(Down but not out) state.
Tachanka Voice Lines:
Tachanka’s voice lines have been recorded with a new voice actor due to “unavoidable constraints”. The patch notes also thanked Anatoly Zinoviev, the previous voice actor. “We thank Anatoly Zinoviev for his past work as Tachanka’s voice actor and for the passion he was able to provide to both the role and to the community.”, says the patch notes.
Bugs Fixed:
The update also fixed a lot of bugs in the game, especially related to Tachanka. Here’s a list of fixed bugs.

- Several issues with visuals and functionality on Shumikha Shells.
- Various SFX issues with the grenade launcher.
- Visual issues present with the grenade launcher.
- Several UI and store visuals with the Slava Korolyu Elite items and icons.
- Tachanka’s Elite fire VFX from the MVP dance are present on his model in multiple maps.
- Frag bounce sound can sometimes play unintentionally.
- Tachanka’s DP27 LMG currently has the full penetration attribute.
- DP27 does 48 damage instead of 49.
- There is a major visual obstruction when Tachanka guard breaks a shield with his DP27.
- The DP27 benefits from 1 additional round, despite being an open bolt machine gun.
