Oscar Isaac to star in Sony’s Metal Gear Solid movie

Popular American actor Oscar Isaac will star in Sony’s Metal Gear Solid movie adaptation.

For those that don’t know, Metal Gear Solid is a popular franchise of stealth-based video games. The first Metal Gear Solid game was released back in 1998 for PlayStation.

According to Deadline, The Metal Gear Solid movie is currently in development at Sony Pictures and the director is Jordan Vogt-Roberts, who has directed the 2017 Kong: Skull Island.

Isaac will be starring in the lead protagonist role as Solid Snake, a special operations soldier. This has been confirmed by the movie’s director Jordan Vogt-Roberts, as he posted a picture of Isaac on Twitter.

Oscar Isaac is a renowned actor who played the role of Poe Dameron in the Star Wars film trilogy. He also played the antagonist role as Apocalypse in X-Men: Apocalypse. Isaac is a Golden Globe Award nominee. He received a nomination for his role in a movie called ‘Inside Llewyn Davis’.

In an interview for the movie ‘Triple Frontier’ back in 2019, Isaac said he wants to star in the movie.

Although there are rumours that the movie could be an adaptation of the original PlayStation game from 1998, the rumors could easily not be true as not much has been officially revealed about the movie’s plot just yet.
